The fire ban and state of emergency in Oswego County that was effective at 3 p.m., on Tuesday, March 24 has been canceled.
 
New Dispatch System For EMS Calls Posted: @ Tue Jan 27, 2009 11:24 am 
As an enhancement to the existing Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) system, Oswego County 911 Dispatch Center has adopted a new priority response system, mandated Nationally, called "Medical Priority Dispatch System" (MPDS™). There is no official publication on the web specifically for Oswego County regarding the use of this new system to our knowledge. However, you can find out more about MPDS™ by doing a Google search though you will find conflicting and somewhat convoluted information about the system and its use.

Oswego County E-911 is now offering a new way for you to be notified in the event of local emergencies or community alerts. You can now receive those alerts via your cellular phone, email, and/or TDD. Here's a brief synopsis of what it does and who does it:

Hyper-Reach will already call your home phone number(s) in the event of local emergencies or community alerts. You do not need to register your home phone number.
