At approximately noon on Thursday, Dec. 13th, the Mexico Fire Dept. was called out to a structure fire inside a two story home on a
farm on Rowe Road in the town of Mexico. The home turned out to be one that was recently purchased by Mexico Firefighter Andy Parkhurst,
who was devistated as he watched his dream home be destroyed by the fire. Andy, his wife, their three children, and his father-in-law had
just moved to the home in September. It was an old farmhouse built in the 1800's, and Andy had put a lot of work into it. The family's dog
died in the fire, but no one else was home when it started. The Mexico Volunteer Fire Department will do whatever we can to help Andy and
his family get back on their feet. Chief Douglas Horton is asking for anyone who can make a donation to call him at the firehouse.
That number is (315) 963-7494. Please leave a message if no-one answers the phone.

Update 12/21/07 - Andy and his family are doing well and wish to thank all who have helped them out in their time of need.
They are still in need of such things as bedding (sheets, pillow cases, blankets, etc.), and storage totes for storing summer wear.
Please stop by the Mexico Fire Station or call the Mexico Fire Station at (315) 963-7494 if you would like to donate anything. Leave a
message if no-one answers and we'll get back with you.
