| Mexico Fire Dept. assisted Pulaski on the Whites Lumber fire that happened on 2/11/10 @ 6:30 PM. 24 fire departments from 2 counties responded with 17 tankers, 4 rescues, 9 engines and 3 aerials. Oswego County E-911 is now offering a new way for you to be notified in the event of local emergencies or community alerts. You can now receive those alerts via your cellular phone, email, and/or TDD. Here's a brief synopsis of what it does and who does it:
Hyper-Reach will already call your home phone number(s) in the event of local emergencies or community alerts. You do not need to register your home phone number. Fires don’t always happen to someone else! A majority of fatal home fires occur between the hours of midnight and 6 am when most people
are asleep. When your smoke detector sounds, you may have less than 2 minutes to escape from your home. Your secondary escape route may
be your only way out. An operating smoke detector will give you an early warning and those few minutes needed to escape. An escape plan,
